About Elevenfold
Elevenfold is a free football game where you build a dream World Cup XI from the greatest national-team squads ever, then find out how far it would go in the tournament — from crashing out of the group stage all the way to lifting the trophy.
How it works
Pick your mode and formation — choose how you play and the shape of your team.
Spin to draw a random nation and World Cup year.
Draft one player from that squad into an open position.
Repeat for 11 rounds until every position is filled.
Get your tournament run and the tier your XI earns.
Game modes
Classic — full ratings and stats are visible. Draft the strongest team you can.
Expert — ratings hidden. You see only names and positions, and draft on pure football knowledge. Everything is revealed at the end.
Formations
Build your XI in seven classic shapes: 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-4, 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 5-3-2 and 5-4-1. Players can only fill positions they genuinely play. Strikers stay central, wingers stay wide, full-backs stay on their side, and midfielders cannot be thrown up front.
Can you really win it?
Yes, but it is balanced so every manager can win with the right near-perfect draft. Trophy runs should land around five wins in every hundred elite attempts, so it stays rare without feeling impossible.

Draft guide
How to build a winning XI
The best team is not always the highest-rated XI. The game rewards manager fit, formation logic, role balance, width, defensive cover and creativity.
Simple winning formula
1 reliable goalkeeper.
2 strong centre-backs.
At least 1 defensive screen in midfield.
At least 1 main creator.
At least 1 wide threat.
At least 1 reliable goalscorer.
A manager who fits the system.
Think of the draft as building a real team, not just collecting icons.
Team DNA explained
Pressing is driven by the PAC, PHY and DEF of your forwards and central midfielders. Strikers and wide forwards must have pace and physicality to press from the front; CDMs and CMs need high DEF to win the ball back.
Creativity is measured from PAS and DRI. CAMs are weighted most, CMs and CDMs carry build-up quality, wide forwards add flair. Without a high-PAS CAM the team will always feel limited here.
Defensive cover is the DEF + PHY of your back line (CB/LB/RB) combined with your CDM (extra weight) and CMs. CDM quality has the biggest single impact on this bar.
Goal threat — your strikers SHO dominates. Wide forwards and CAMs contribute at a lower rate. No clinical striker means a lower score regardless of wide quality.
Width comes from the PAC and DRI of wide attackers (LW/RW/LM/RM), with full-backs contributing at a lower rate. Having 4+ wide players adds a bonus.
CB pace, Mid DEF and Mid PAS show the actual average stats for those positions, calibrated so that an 80-pace CB reads as above-average — not elite.
Defensive Solidity
Best with strong centre-backs, defensive full-backs, ball-winners and compact systems.
Back fiveCDM coverDefensive FBsNo outlet
Example: two defensive full-backs can work in a 5-back Deschamps-style team if the midfield has enough passing or creativity.
Possession
Best with playmakers, technical midfielders, ball-playing defenders and forwards who link play.
PlaymakerPassing CBFalse ninePoor passers
Pressing
Best with engines, quick forwards, hard-working wingers and mobile defenders.
EngineFast forwardsAggressive midfieldSlow back line
Counter / Free-flow / Balanced
Counter wants pace, structure and strong defenders. Free-flow boosts elite attackers and flair players. Balanced rewards teams with no obvious weakness.
Back four
A back four is safest when one full-back attacks and the other protects, or when a CDM covers both sides.
1 attacking FB1 defensive FBCDM screenTwo wing-backs + no cover
Back five
Very solid, but it needs a way to attack. Use wing-backs, a creative midfielder, or two forwards with service.
Wing-backsPlaymaker2 strikersNo creativity
Three at the back
Needs width. Without wing-backs or wide midfielders, you can get trapped and lose territory.
Wing-backsWide runnersBall-playing CBNo width
4-2-4
Dangerous but risky. It needs either elite attack or two serious midfielders: one ball-winner and one passer.
Fast wingersBall-winnerStrong CBsLuxury midfield
Strong role combinations
Playmaker + Ball Winner gives control and protection.
False Nine + Inside Forwards creates central overloads and goal threat.
Target Man + Fast Winger gives direct chance creation.
Defensive Leader + Sweeper Keeper helps against fast attacks.
Situational boosts
Wing-backs are stronger in back fives or with CDM cover. Defensive full-backs are stronger under defensive managers. Playmakers matter more in back-five systems because they stop you becoming too passive.
Pressing forwards and engine midfielders matter more with pressing managers. Inside forwards are better when someone creates behind them.
Common draft mistakes
Picking only the highest-rated player every time.
Two attacking full-backs with no defensive cover.
A back five with no creativity.
4-2-4 with two luxury midfielders.
Pressing manager with slow players.
Possession manager with poor passers.
No wide threat, no main creator, or no natural scorer.
Quick rule
If your team has a weakness, your manager and formation should hide it. If your team has a strength, your system should amplify it.
A lower-rated player who fits the system can be better than a superstar who breaks the balance.
